The Blavatnik Honresfield donation to the Natural History Society of Northumbria of a quantity of Bewick material included many drawings relating to bookplates. This recent development is reflected in the scope and breadth of the present publication, originally intended to be a brief supplement to the first edition Bookplates by Beilby & Bewick. Now substantially enlarged, the book has 62 illustrations, including many original drawings never previously published, and an extensive quantity of new information. It stands on its own as a second volume to Bookplates by Beilby & Bewick and as an indispensable partner to that edition.
